Our Story

Akila and Sriram are parents to Nishant who was diagnosed in 1999 with Autism and Apraxia of Speech. Their journey with Autism has taken them to many places and  they have gathered deep learnings about their child , themselves and the world  .This inspired them  to set up Amaze Trust in September 2012 to  help other families “Navigate the Autism Maze “ .

Their vision for Amaze  to work towards Lifespan solutions for persons  across the Autism Spectrum , a place where they are accepted and valued, has been realised over the past 10 years. Lives of numerous young people on the Autism spectrum have been transformed and many families have been positively impacted through their selfless efforts . They are both looked upon as thought leaders and mentors in the community of the neurodiverse.

Today, Nishant has grown into a responsible and wonderful young man with varied  interests like painting , digital art,  music,  cycling and trekking. His art is vibrant, reflecting his deep connection with nature. He uses AAC to communicate and has co-authored the book “Talking Fingers” .

Unfortunately Sriram succumbed to ILD and Cancer on May 18th 2023 . However he lives on in the hearts of his loved ones and the children and families whose lives he touched .
