Vision - to help neurodiverse young adults jumpstart their learning of critical skills that help them survive in the present age ie - Lifeskills , Digital literacy , Literacy
Program Objectives
- Enhance Literacy skills - Improve their vocabulary and language [ in English ] for the associated words relating Life skills and social skills and also math concepts and calculations
- Foster Digital literacy – learn to use technology tools such as Ms Office tools , Navigate Internet , Typing , Mouse skills, Zoom skills , Email etc
- Learning to follow visuals – students will be able to follow a visual to complete a lifeskill / recipe or understand social rules leading to independence
- Acquire Life skills/Social skills – students will be able to understand rules , steps to complete an activity , become aware of nutrition and health and to interpret social situation and their own feelings and emotions leading to self regulation
Program Features
- Skill focused - 5 topics - Daily Living Skills, Social Skills, Culinary Skills ,Functional Math, Graphic Arts
- Interconnected worksheets and resources map daily life experiences and to relatable content using technology tools as a bridge to enhance literacy .
- Course duration is for 8 weeks - Once a week ,1 hour long online live group session to discuss the concept and demonstrating the worksheets
- 10 editable worksheets and learning resources are shared every week for student to practice skill , review the topic and complete worksheets at their own pace at home
- Content is Graded over the weeks and offered as 2 courses per topic – Basic level [8 weeks] and Intermediate level [8 weeks ]
Program Content
- Daily Living Skills: Personal Care including Hygiene and Health, Basic Housekeeping skills including Cleanliness and Independence
- Social Skills : Privacy, Safety, Health, Relationship boundaries, Emotional regulation
- Culinary Skills: Cooking, Meal planning, Nutrition, Related Math concepts
- Functional Math: Calendar and Time, Shopping and Money, Measurement
- Graphic Arts: Visual perception ,Graphics ,Creativity MS Paint tools, Canva , Paint 3D , Photo Editing/Collages , GIFS , Simple Video creation and editing
Achievements
- Inclusive learning across age and abilities – some of our students have high support needs and attend with their teacher or parent and some have completed 10th /12th and graduation
- Students have reported improvement and impact in the areas of becoming more through and independent with life skills , better social and emotional regulation , improved literacy and digital literacy skills and enhanced creativity
- Two leading institutions are using our course content in their skill training centers – Yash Charitable trust, Mumbai [Since 2022] and ASHA for autism, Bangalore [Since 2024 ]
- Self paced courses with teaching videos and downloadable content available at elearning site of Youngisthan , Pune
- Over 200 students from across India have attended our courses
